So who is ''The Train'' Georgios Donis ?
He embarked on his professional journey with PAS Giannina in 1990, and following a highly productive year, he transferred to Panathinaikos.
The devoted Panathinaikos supporters, known for their penchant for nicknames, affectionately dubbed him "The Train" due to his remarkable speed and acceleration.
On June 5, 1996, following his instrumental role in helping the Greek club reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, where they faced Ajax FC, Donis made a noteworthy move to Blackburn Rovers. The transfer was completed for a groundbreaking sum of 1.1 billion drachmas, setting a new record for Greek players at that time.
During his stint at Blackburn, he had a somewhat unpredictable season but managed to score against Everton and Coventry City.
Subsequently, he returned to his homeland to play for AEK Athens before making a comeback to England, where he played for Sheffield United and Huddersfield Town, ultimately concluding his professional career.
